OEM / ODM BUYER HELP
Custom Manufacturing FAQ
Clear answers about quotations, MOQ, paid samples, production, inspection, packaging, shipping and after-sales support.
01
Getting Started
What Elandmake can develop and what to send for an initial review.
We manufacture custom bags, backpacks, luggage, pet travel products and related soft-goods accessories. We review each concept against our equipment, construction methods, material availability and compliance requirements before confirming feasibility.
Yes. You can start with a tech pack, drawing, product photo, reference link, marketplace link, sketch, physical sample or an early product idea. We will identify the missing specifications before preparing a final quotation or sample.
Send the product dimensions, construction, materials, colors, logo method, hardware, packaging, quantity for each style and colorway, target market, delivery destination and required date. A photo, drawing, tech pack, reference link or physical sample helps us review the project faster.
OEM normally means producing to your design, specification or approved reference. ODM includes more development support, such as refining a concept, construction, materials or features. The quotation confirms the development scope and which files or approvals are required from each party.
02
MOQ & Quotations
How order quantities and quotation terms are calculated.
Our standard MOQ is 300 pieces per style and colorway. One SKU means one style, one color and one configuration. Product-specific exceptions depend on materials, color, hardware, packaging and production setup and must be confirmed in the quotation.
Our standard MOQ is calculated separately for each style and colorway. A mixed-color or mixed-style program is not automatic; it depends on fabric minimums, dyeing, hardware, logo, packaging and production changeover requirements and must be confirmed in the quotation.
An estimate based on a photo or incomplete brief is only a planning reference. The final quotation is calculated after dimensions, materials, construction, logo, quantity by SKU, hardware, packaging, quality requirements and trade terms are confirmed.
A formal quotation is normally valid for 15 days. After that period, material, hardware, packaging, labor, exchange-rate or freight changes may require the price and schedule to be reconfirmed.
03
Samples & Revisions
Sample fees, timing, shipment, revisions and approval standards.
Sample and applicable development fees are paid before development. Sample fees can be deducted from the bulk-order payment after order confirmation. The applicable amount and freight are confirmed in the quotation; tooling, setup, testing and third-party inspection charges may be separate.
Standard sampling takes 3–7 days after requirements, files, materials, logo process and sample payment are confirmed. Special materials, custom hardware, new tooling or complex construction may require a project-specific schedule.
International sample freight is normally paid by the customer. You may provide a DHL, FedEx or UPS account, or ask us to arrange the shipment and add the cost to the sample invoice. Destination duties, customs charges and local fees are the customer's responsibility.
Send one consolidated revision list covering size, materials, color, structure, function, logo, hardware and packaging. Customer-requested changes may require a new sample fee and revised schedule. If our sample does not follow the confirmed specification because of our error, we correct and resample it without an additional sample fee.
The final sample approved in writing becomes the production reference, sometimes called a golden or sealed sample. Mass production and final inspection follow that sample together with the approved specification sheet, materials, colors, logo artwork, packaging and written revision record.
04
Production & Payment
When production starts, how long it takes and how payments work.
Sampling begins after requirements, files, materials, logo process and payment are confirmed. Production begins after final sample approval, specifications, colors, materials, logo, packaging, PI, deposit and production files are all confirmed. Light customization normally takes 15–30 days; heavy customization involving major structural changes, new tooling or full development normally takes 20–45 days. Shipping time is separate.
Standard custom orders normally use a 30% deposit and 70% balance before shipment. Highly customized or complex projects normally use a 50% deposit and 50% balance before shipment. The confirmed Proforma Invoice or contract controls the final payment terms.
We provide photos or video at useful milestones such as material arrival, cutting, logo application, sewing, assembly, semi-finished inspection, final inspection, packing and shipment. The exact update schedule depends on the project and is confirmed with the order.
The remaining balance is paid after the goods pass our internal inspection or the customer-appointed third-party inspection. Shipment is released after the balance is received, according to the payment and delivery terms stated in the Proforma Invoice or contract.
05
Quality, Testing & Compliance
Inspection checkpoints, testing responsibilities and market requirements.
We combine incoming-material checks, pre-production and first-piece confirmation, in-process inspection, semi-finished and finished-goods checks, packaging inspection and pre-shipment sampling. Checks can cover dimensions, color, logo, stitching, zippers, buckles, hardware, function and carton quantity.
Yes. You may appoint your own inspector, sourcing team, SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas, TÜV or another agreed inspection company. We provide the goods, inspection space, order documents, approved sample and specification sheet. Customer-appointed inspection and related travel costs are quoted separately.
Yes, when agreed before ordering. Basic checks may be completed internally; testing that requires professional equipment, an official report or market-compliance documentation is arranged through an agreed third-party laboratory at the customer's cost.
Not automatically. Requirements differ by product, material, color, construction and destination market. The applicable standard, test items, laboratory, cost and schedule must be confirmed for the final product before ordering.
06
Packaging, Shipping & After-sales
Custom packaging, freight, order changes and support after delivery.
Yes. Options can include polybags, dust bags, drawstring bags, color boxes, gift boxes, hangtags, barcode labels, wash-care labels, logo labels, size labels, carton marks and custom cartons. Packaging MOQ, price and sampling time depend on the packaging supplier and are quoted separately.
We commonly support EXW, FOB and CIF, plus international express, air, sea and railway transport, Amazon FBA delivery and delivery to a customer-appointed freight forwarder in China. The final route and responsibilities are confirmed in the quotation or order.
Freight depends on carton quantity, package dimensions, gross weight, total volume, destination, delivery timing and shipping method. It is calculated separately after the packaging plan and destination information are available.
Changes to quantity, color, construction, material, logo or packaging require a new review of price, material loss, lead time, delivery date and whether resampling is needed. After materials or production have started, costs already incurred cannot be refunded. The applicable terms are confirmed in the PI or contract.
Inspect the shipment promptly and report visible production, quantity or packaging issues within 7–15 days of receipt. Send the PI or order number, SKU, affected quantity, carton or batch details, clear photos or video and a description. Confirmed production-quality issues are resolved according to the evidence and agreed order terms.
